Annual Music Therapy Conference 2025

Capturing the Impact

November 2025, Winchester University, Hampshire.

Having spent the last 2 conferences thinking about our work with children, an aim this year was to look at our work across the age spectrum, and to think about how we think about it, about the need to put the impact of our work across to others, and how best to do this.

We were thrilled to welcome Professor Simon Procter as our Keynote – who posed important questions around impact. Grateful thanks to our presenters: Alison, Kate & Alphonso, Cressida and Helen, who illustrated a wide range of evaluation tools with examples from their own clinical work.

Also, in keeping with our conference tradition, we explored the day’s content through improvisation, and we provided opportunities for discussion – essential gearshifts to this full and stimulating day.

 Beccy Read, Therapy Co-ordinator, writes:

This is the last of the many Key Changes Conference I will have pulled together (I retire from Key Changes Spring ’25), so I’m putting on the record what a pleasure it has been making this event happen down the years: the eminent and numerous Key Note presenters we have had in our midst, the opportunities it has given music therapists to present their work, and the recognition of Key Changes on the national stage as a provider of music therapy and a supporter of the work our therapists do with those referred to them.
